  • Given the nack for typical German over-engineering issues, mechanical malfunctioning but otherwise effective military hardware, it's puzzling that the German arms industry (Krupp, Herschel, Porsche etc) didn't build more of these relatively simple but highly lethal long-range armor killers. Cheap to build (literally three of these machines to less than one Tiger I tank), simple mechanical design (Czech tank, Panzer III and Pazner IV) and easy to weld and design armor plating. And yet, only 500 or so were ever built.

  • Should we tell you all that Dutch and English sound alike? Because they do. If you ever wonder what Dutch sounds like to non Dutch speakers. Yeah, it sounds like English. i speak english french german spanish russian estonian chinese but i can only read italian and dutch. trust me, i know what i am saying.

    • @Hartwig Flögh yes, they are all Germanic languages and do sound similar but can be distinguished.

      学汉字Hieroglyph学汉字Hieroglyph3 maanden geleden
    • @学汉字Hieroglyph i’m sure you are right about that. What i meant was that many dutch words are quite similar to the swedish words that mean the same thing. It’s not so difficult for me to understand around 30% of written dutch.

      Hartwig FlöghHartwig Flögh3 maanden geleden
    • @Hartwig Flögh Swedish is a sing-song language and by that way differes significantly from English and Dutch. Finnish and Estonian, though not even in the same language family, are also sing song languages and in that respect sound much like Swedish.

  • Two interruptions, so far...advertisements louder than video...I will not support any advertiser whose ads do not have an option to 'opt out' immediately. Positive name recognition takes one second. I encourage all other readers to re-post this statement to start pushing back these interruptions...

  • Nashorn must not have been that great of a weapon, since the Germans did not build too many of them and it would have been faster and cheaper to build these since it used a already in production MK IV chassis and a simple design vs a Jagdpanther that would have been much more time consuming and expensive to build ,

    Leatherface123Leatherface1233 maanden geleden
  • It is rare for multiple reasons 1) they made very few 2) most surviving German armor was scrapped at the end of the war 3) it could not outrun an allied tank

    James RickerJames Ricker3 maanden geleden
    • @always BvB I'd rather be in a "Tommy cooker" (even though later variants of the Sherman rarely burned) than a Jerry cooker because 1) it's reliable enough to get me to and from the fight 2) it'll have enough fuel and ammo to endure the fight 3) when the Sherman does get knocked out, i'll be able to survive thanks to how easy it is to get out of the tank in a hurry Oh, an P.S. watch out for that horde of T-34s. Germany wasn't just fighting the western allies, you know

      TROLLGUN CRTMTROLLGUN CRTMMaand geleden
    • @Mr76 It has been the best tool to cut thommy cookers (sherman tanks) into pieces, or to get liberator bombers down from the sky. Try this with a 17 pdr. gun.

      always BvBalways BvB3 maanden geleden
    • @always BvB problem is chum that it didn't matter how good the 88 was the 17pdr still was a better weapon based on the fact that the Germans lost the second world war. 🤔

      Mr76Mr763 maanden geleden
    • @Mr76 Dass die deutsche 8,8cm Kanone als Flak-, Panzerabwehr- und auch als Kampfwagenkanone die beste und vielseitigste Kanone des 2.Weltkriegs war ist unbestritten. 😉
